The desire to write and the love of reading
Stephen King says that the desire to write always starts with the love of reading, but it doesn't always have to start that way. I love to read, I would do it all the time if i could, but sadly I can't. I don't like to write at all really, unless it is an interesting topic that I really know an have a lot to say about. I think that many people that write do it because they like to create a fictional world for people that read to get lost in. I would love to be able to create a world for readers if i had the talent. If i could create stories that people would fall in love with I wouldn't read hardly at all anymore, I would spend a lot of my time writing. You don't have to love reading in order to love to create stories for the reading world to enjoy.

Well I think that passion of writing could stem from a person's love for reading. It could be a good start, at least.

DeleteIt's true you don't have to love reading to become a great writer, but it helps. Reading gives you ideas to work with. I like your point though.

DeleteI cna see where you are coming from but heres a thought. You said Stephan King said that the love of writin gcomes from the love of reading, and you said you love to read but not to write. I think he meant that anyone that writes probably loves reading therfore they make great writers, now just becasue you love to read doesn't necessarily mean you love to write.
ReplyDeleteI understand that, but I don't think you have to start out loving to read before you love to write. You can start out loving to write and then fall in love with reading when you want to read a book for inspiration.
